Be Active | Me Kori Tonu

Today is the perfect opportunity to give yourself a refreshing boost by engaging in some physical activity. Physical activity stimulates the release of endorphins, the ‘feel good’ hormone, which can uplift your mood and increase feelings of happiness. It reduces stress and anxiety levels, promotes relaxation and enhances overall mental resilience. It can even sharpen our thinking and boost our creativity.

Being active doesn’t always mean high-intensity cardio workouts, there are lots of ways you can move your body to uplift your mood. Choose something that is purely for feeling good or having fun.

Below are a few ideas to help you me kori tonu

  1. Get into the great outdoors and breath in the fresh air
  2. Have a dance party with your whānauor flatmates, or pets! Play your favourite tunes, sing as long as you can and get your body moving
  3. Try parking a little further away from the office or get off the bus a stop early and walk the rest of the way
  4. Get your garden ready for summer by pulling out weeds or planting something new, which will make you work up a sweat
  5. Grab your friends and organise a friendly sports match at a local park.
  6. Get your heart rate up by learning a TikTok dance or try a new YouTube workout
